About Me

Hi! My name is Kristy, and I live in Huntington, WV. In 2008, Huntington was named the “Fattest City in America” by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Also in 2008, I began my quest to lose weight and become healthier.

I used to hate that photo, but I am trying to find some pride in it. I deserve it!

I’ve learned a lot over the past four years, so I started this blog to share what I’ve learned. Huntington has learned a lot too! Jamie Oliver filmed a show here to try to turn around nutrition in our schools, and many of our citizens have rallied around becoming healthier. Now, you see a lot more people running at the park in the evenings and on the weekends!

Hopefully you will find something of interest here. As this blog grows and progresses, I hope to add recipes and workouts, so stay tuned!

If you’d like to contact me, you can email me at kristyjoydoyle@gmail.com. Thanks for reading!

Yay for you Kristy for making a difference in your own health and for inspiring your city. I grew up in Charleston, WV, so anyone who works to make my home state better is a hero of mine! I found you from the Ambassadors list, and I’m excited to read more of your journey.

Thanks, Anna! That means a lot coming from a WV native! I appreciate the comment, I don’t get many just yet, it’s fun to know people (other than my family and friends) are reading and enjoying my content. 🙂

I absolutely loved jamie oliver’s show! Health, and especially those of children, is a huge personal passion of mine! That’s so great that more people are getting active in your community. How lucky for your town to have the resources Jamie Oliver delivered! Good for you on your progress!
